The Seattle Mariners have signed right-handed pitcher Jamey Wright as a minor league free agent and invited him to spring training. Seattle signed Wright on Monday. He becomes the 21st non-roster invitee to Mariners spring training, which begins with the first full-squad workout on Feb. 14. The 36-year-old Wright appeared in 28 games last season with the Mariners.

The Seattle Mariners aren't giving up on Milton Bradley as the oft-troubled outfielder awaits a court appearance following his arrest in Los Angeles earlier this month. Seattle general manager Jack Zduriencik said on Thursday that the Mariners are moving forward with Bradley as part of their roster and expect him to arrive at spring training ready to compete for a job on the Mariners roster.

The 2010 World Series Champions know they have to practice to get a shot at the 2011 Series. Spring training in the Cactus League gives them an opportunity to practice in the sunshine against other teams they will be facing in the 2011 games. Most teams head to Arizona or Florida. The Giants have agreed to continue spring training at Arizona's Scottsdale Stadium through 2025. It is convenient to get to Phoenix from many parts of the country. Fly on Southwest Airlines or drive in to Scottsdale.
